After many years of working in all sorts of places, spaces and even from home, I can say that my new workspace is without a doubt, the most productive yet. It's true that a tidy desk creates a tidy mind, but when your workspace looks and feels good, you will too (as well as being loads more productive)!
I wanted to share how I styled this space to show that with minimal effort and a few select finds, you can get the look too!
What you'll need:
1. A clean desk or workspace (it doesn't have to be white)
2. Stylish stationery from Jot it Down (obviously)
3. Your favourite candle
4. Some fresh flowers or greenery
5. 1 or 2 inspirational, meaningful or lucky items
1. THE DESK:
If you're anything like me (or you've seen our Instagram feed) you'll understand my love of clean, white aesthetics! So when I found this simple, white desk from Provincial Home Living, I knew it was match made in heaven! If you've got an old dark timber desk, why not head down to your local hardware and try your hand at painting it! Don't worry if you aren't the best painter, you can always grab some sand-paper and distress it later on.
2. THE TOOLS OF THE TRADE:
Stationery is one of those simple pleasures in life that can make working that much more enjoyable. If you're ready to take your workspace to the next level, why not try some of ours? Our Marble Memo Cube is the solution to always having a pen and paper at the ready, and our Natural Goose Feather Quill Pen will transform any pen holder in the blink of an eye!
Tip: If you like the pen holder I've used in this workspace, you can read our blog post here on making your own.
3. YOUR FAVOURITE CANDLE:
I love an amazing luxury candle in any room, but find it most effective when I burn one on my desk. Not only does it add a beautiful scent to the room, but it instantly calms and relaxes the energy of the space. When you're relaxed and stress-free, the creative juices start flowing more freely and you become more productive! I've used my favourites from Scent of Home and Maisey Candles here.
4. FRESH BLOOMS:
This one's a no brainer. Adding fresh flowers or plants to your space will clean the air, freshen the environment and reduce stress levels. Not only that, but they always look SO beautiful! If you're going for the monochrome look like I have, try and stick to green and white plants and flowers - they lend themselves better to the minimal look! I've used white Lilies and a cute Spider Plant for my desk.
5. SENTIMENTAL VALUE:
As we all know, working can be monotonous. Sometimes when you look up from your computer, you just need to see something inspiring to remind you of why you started (or why you should keep going!). This could be your favourite quote, your lucky charm or a healing crystal - whatever helps you feel more at home, inspired or just happy in your new space.
Tip: Try not to go overboard - too many trinkets can create clutter. You're aiming for 1 or 2 pieces that add character.
