5 Steps To Living A Positive Life
Life isn’t always easy and staying positive when things go wrong can feel like an impossible task. The truth is that your life is what you make it. If you wake up every day with a smile on your face and a positive attitude, then you’ll be a happier and more joyful person. However, sometimes you just don't know how.
If you’re constantly dealing with negative thoughts, a bad attitude, and tough days, then it’s time to make a change! You might be surprised at how easy it can be to make small changes and update your outlook. Follow our five steps to start living a more positive life every single day!
1. Keep the Past in the Past
We all make mistakes. Things always go wrong. Stop dwelling on everything that doesn’t turn out perfectly and start living in the moment. Every time you fall, think of it as a learning opportunity and pick yourself back up and try again. Don’t wallow in the past. Don’t look back. Start accepting the things that have happened to you and your issues and, then, move forward.
The best way to deal with your past is to use one of our journals to jot down moments that cause you stress and anxiety. Analyse each moment and try to find all the reasons that it’s haunting you. You can then break down the cause of the problem, start to extract as many positive points as possible and focus on those instead. Sometimes just writing down your stressors is enough to alleviate some of them!

2. Mindfulness
Mindfulness and gratitude go hand-in-hand. Did you know that there are hundreds of moments in each day that are amazing and beautiful? Start paying attention to each of those moments that deserves gratitude by practising mindfulness.
Take time to focus on your breathing and be grateful that you have breath. When you eat each meal, pay attention to each bite of food and be thankful that you have taste buds and food on your table. Mindfulness helps you be grateful for each piece of your life—a key to a more positive life.

3. Believe in Yourself
Stop doubting yourself and ignoring your instincts. Have faith in your abilities, your beliefs, and in everything that you do. You are an amazing and unique individual, and you can do anything that you put your mind to. Remind yourself about how awesome you really are and go out and face the day with an attitude that says, “Nothing can stop me!” You can use your favourite inspirational quotes on your phone background or stuck up in your workspace to help remind and inspire yourself!

4. Stay Organised
When you’re messy, stress and negativity can creep into your life without you even knowing it. Just think about it. You always feel anxious when you can’t figure out where something is or what you need to do next. Stop that anxiety and negativity before it enters your life by keeping organised.
While not everyone loves organisation, it can help you live a positive life. Start out by using our Words to Live By Leather Journal or notepad to organise your life. Each night, before you fall asleep, write down everything you need to do the next day in a list. It will help clear your mind and keep you on task the next day. You can even use the journal to list out every room or piece of your life that needs to be organised and then take it day-by-day until everything is in its place.

Smile and laugh every single day. No matter how bad your day is going, find a reason to smile. The simple act of smiling releases endorphins and can have a huge impact on your mind, body, and soul. When you smile and laugh, you bring joy to your life and to the lives of others. It’s a wonderful way to touch the world around you and to change how you feel about each and every day.
